Blog comments are hard to come by these days. It used to be a little easier to get people discussing and chatting about the latest post, but times change and we must change with them. That’s why we’ve decided to move to the Livefyre commenting system. The new system encourages visitors to interact and makes it much easier for them to do so.
Now, you can “login” and comment using Facebook, Twitter, OpenID, Google+, LinkedIn, or your Livefyre account. The interface is smooth and clean and allows you to use some more advanced features than our previous comment system (which was just the regular old WordPress commenting).
When you type in your comment, you have the option of sending your comment to various social networks – tell the world what you’re up to and invite them into our blog by sharing. This helps generate a larger scale discussion than before. You can also “tag” your friends in your comments to get them involved as well. Just type the @ symbol before their name and Livefyre will help you find the friend you’re looking for (you have to connect your Livefyre account to Facebook or Twitter, but that’s easy to do!).
Livefyre also watches the social channels for mentions of our posts and links, so that those comments can also be included in the conversation. Not all conversation takes place on the blog and a lot of discussion and interaction happens on the various social media channels instead – we see this as a great way to stay involved with our visitors, even when they’re not on the site.
Hope you all enjoy the new system and find it useful. Feedback is always appreciated and we’d love to hear from you.
