Methodist Stone Oak Hospital has announced plans to expand its current facilities and capabilities by adding a three story structure on top of a current single story building at its Stone Oak campus. The expansion is expected to add more than 100,000 square feet to the facility as well as renovate about 20,000 existing square feet. Rising demand in the city has the hospital planning to invest over $60 million on the project to keep pace with the city’s needs. The newly renovated and expanded facility, expected to be complete in 2017, will give Methodist Stone Oak more than 70 new beds, more space for women’s services, expand the current capabilities of its neonatal intensive care unit, and add a acute rehabilitation facility and a parking garage. This is the third expansion of the hospital since it opened in 2009.
